Beethoven / Da Costa / Taipei Symphony Orchestra- Violin Concerto / Symphony No 7
Beethoven / Da Costa / Taipei Symphony Orchestra- Violin Concerto / Symphony No 7

The Violin Concerto is the most intimate of Beethoven's instrumental works. The cadenzas, from the hand of Russian-Canadian Airat Ichmouratov, take pride of place in this interpretation. A clarinetist and conductor in his own right, Ichmouratov connects with Beethoven's vision of a world made limitless through the spirituality of art and faith. He transforms Beethoven's music incorporating classical music, klezmer and folklore from the four corners of the world: all enter into the visionary improvisation based on the substance of Beethoven's musical center.

Tracklist:

  1. Violin Concerto in D Major Op.61 [Cadenza Ichmouratov]: I Allegro Ma Non Troppo
  2. Violin Concerto in D Major Op.61 [Cadenza Ichmouratov]: II Larghetto
  3. Violin Concerto in D Major Op.61 [Cadenza Ichmouratov]: III Rondo. Allegro
  4. Symphony No.7 in a Major, Op.92 I Poco Sostenuto - Vivace
