This album is released on the occasion of Gergely Madaras taking up his position as musical director of the orchestra, as if a new day were beginning. Born in Belgium Philippe Boesmans studied piano at Conservatoire de Liege before choosing a composing career. Initially influenced by serialism, he soon felt it necessary to break beyond it's constraints and exclusions.
