Soprano Ildiko Raimondi, the ensemble Young Philharmonic of Vienna and conductor Michael Lessky present immortal melodies from the first decades of the 20th century. Besides the world premiere recording of the "Lustspielouvertüre" (Comedy Overture) by Alexander Zemlinsky, which has been discovered by Michael Lessky as well as three songs from his estate that have been orchestrated by Lessky, two "Brettl-Lieder" by Schönberg as well as works by Lehár, Dostal and even Gershwin are featured - a compilation that is unusual only at first glance: it spins an arc from the "serious" composer to the "light muse" in the years from 1900 until the thirties, revealing interesting musical interrelations.

Tracklist:

  1. 7 Songs: No. 3, Liebe Und Frühling
  2. Lustspielouvertüre
  3. Clivia: Ich Bin Verliebt
  4. Wiener Frauen: Spanische Romanze
  5. Eva: War Es Auch Nichts Als Ein Augenblick (Das Fabriksmädel)
  6. Perlender Champagner
  7. 2 Brettl-Lieder: No. 1, In Der Sonnengasse
  8. 2 Brettl-Lieder: No. 2, Herr Bombardil
  9. Brettl-Lieder (Excerpts): No. 7, Gigerlette
  10. Brettl-Lieder (Excerpts): No. 8, Seit Ich So Viele Weiber Sah
  11. By Strauss
  12. Strike Up The Band Overture (Arr. For Orchestra)
Format: New CD/Classical
