Gospel Music comes in many forms - Country, Bluegrass, black Soul choirs and quartets, solos, classical, shoutin' songs, contemporary, etc. Over the years, King Records, with one of the richest catalogs of vintage mainstream and roots music anywhere, has added greatly to the canon of recorded Gospel music. While King recorded a broad spectrum of Gospel styles, this collection highlights a rich cross section of Country and Bluegrass gems from the 1940s, '50s, and '60s. Bluegrass Gospel is represented by some of the biggest names in the business. Bluegrass groups who recorded gospel music for King included the Stanley Brothers, the duo of Charlie Moore & Bill Napier, and the Easter Brothers. Several groups straddled the fence between old-time Country music and Bluegrass.
