Dick Bills and His Sandia Mountain Boys rose to fame playing country western music and early rock n' roll in Albuquerque in the 1950s. Dick's nephew, Glen Campbell, honed his chops playing guitar in his uncle's band when he was only 15, playing five days a week while also appearing on the radio show Dick Bills and his band hosted on station KOB in Alburquerque. Presented here is a rare album Dick recorded in California around 1960, mostly solo accompanying himself on guitar with the flashy guitarist Hershel Witt appearing on some of the tracks for added spice. Songs From The Hills features a few Jimmie Rodgers classics, which were a big favorites of Dick's, and other classic C&W songs such as Floyd Tillman's "It Makes No Difference Now" and Johnny Bond's "I Wonder Where You Are Tonight." All selections have been newly remastered.
