Chilean guitarist Alvaro Bello's mission is to create a bridge between jazz and Latin American music. His music incorporates Chilean and South-American elements such as the trutruka (a traditional mapuche instrument), Indian Mapuch songs and rhythms such as the Lando and the Cueca. It's a unique and personal style of jazz, rich and spicy and clearly influenced by Pat Metheny and John Scofield. - Y Que Paso? follows on the critical success of Bello's 2006 album Melaolegria (Night & Day). It's 14 tracks explore new ground and continue Bello's quest to create a unique blend of Latin jazz for the new century.
