O_U_T_R_E_N_O_I_R, the French duo of MP Rixain and David Fenech, returns with Agitatol, their second album on the Hublotone label. Arriving one year after their acclaimed debut Insane Ghosts, this CD release shifts toward more rhythmic structures without losing the uncompromising sonic spirit of the project, including new post-punk sounds. The compositions remain grounded in a stark, singular sound design, utilizing electric guitars, vocals, electronics, and atypical sound sources ranging from field recordings to everyday objects like plastic bottles and sea shells. Unlike it's studio-centric predecessor, Agitatol was directly imagined and structured to be performed live on stage, channeling a physical, direct energy. The nine-track album explores tense, industrial textures and driving pulses, closing with a singular cover of the French underground track ""Des Poils Sur Moi."" Mastered by Noel Summerville, the record builds on the momentum of a debut praised by the international press, with The Quietus describing their aesthetic as a compelling ""dub/post punk interface"" and Moonbuilding calling it ""deliciously wobbly... dark, but there's a calm to it.""
