Albertina Walker- God Is Love
Affectionately known as the "Queen of Gospel" and most certainly a star in her own right, Albertina Walker helped to promote the careers of such gospel legends as Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, and many others. As a vocalist, Walker remained a force in traditional gospel music for many decades and helped to popularize traditional gospel, first as founding member of the legendary Caravans gospel group and later as a solo artist beginning in the mid-1960' s. in 1989 she recorded the album "God Is Love" - again carrying on the traditional gospel message with powerful songs including "Just a Closer Walk with Thee," "He Looked Beyond My Fault (And Saw My Need)" and "Holdin' On." All selections newly re-mastered.
