These recordings date from the late 1980s. The Capella Istropolitana is a chamber ensemble, originally formed for recordings. It has become over the years an important orchestra and performs live in Bratislava and in Eastern Europe. Barry Wordsworth has had a distinguished career as conductor for the Royal Ballet, the BBC Concert, and other ensembles. This CD includes Mozart's final two symphonies, no 40 in G minor, K 550, and the "Jupiter" symphony, no. 41 in C major, K. 551.
