This release is part of the uDiscovermusic series, a new standard lineup for Universal Music's international catalog developed overseas and in Japan to serve as a place for "encounters with new music" by re-releasing masterpieces. It features the 1988 second album by Crowded House, which sees the band reuniting with producer Mitchell Froom following the global success of "Don't Dream It's Over." Main songwriter Neil Finn successfully overcame the pressure of their debut by receiving strong support from his brother, Tim Finn, to create quality pop songs like the US chart smash "Better Be Home Soon" (reaching No. 42) and "Into Temptation" (a Dutch Top 20 hit). The dense, highly-evaluated content, centered on mid-tempo pop, became a commercial success, peaking at No. 40 in the United States, hitting No. 1 in Australia, No. 2 in New Zealand, and No. 10 in Canada, and sweeping four categories at the ARIA Music Awards. This 2016 version 2CD deluxe edition reissues the 30th Anniversary 2-disc configuration, including a bonus disc of 17 tracks such as valuable demos and live recordings, notably featuring covers of Bob Dylan and The Byrds. This set is presented on SHM-CD specification and includes liner notes, English liner translation, lyrics, and Japanese translation.
