When New York's Imperial Triumphant released "Vile Luxury" in 2018, it set a new standard for the possibilities of extreme music. Since then, the three-piece band has taken their signature sound, equally rooted in eclectic black metal, the most claustrophobic notions of free jazz, and the concept of urban cityscapes as canyons of horror and cemented their status with tours alongside the likes of Behemoth, Zeal & Ardor, and Voivod. Now, Imperial Triumphant returns with a fresh look at "Vile Luxury," which has been remixed and remastered by longtime contributor Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts), allowing new dimensions of this work-often considered Imperial Triumphant at their most accessible-of stygian dimensions and monolithic intents to seep through.
