"Jazzola" is the cult catchphrase that gathered together two legendary music figures in France. On the one hand, Marcel Azzola, the accordion master, and on the other, Dany Doriz, the great vibraphone player who carried on Lionel Hampton's legacy and was the boss of the major Caveau de la Huchette jazz club as well. In 1999, this summit meeting was immortalised for Black & Blue at a studio session set by Jean-Pierre Tahmazian. Now reissued, this swinging dialogue between both instruments is assisted by an expert and sensitive rhythm section. Here is a fresh and savoury postcard from the Sixties in Paris.
