This is the debut CD by Matthew Welch, the talented young composer, conductor & instrumentalist, who is also Anthony Braxton's pupil & collaborator. Welch writes opuses & symphonies for bagpipe & orchestras & performs them with the Janacek Conservatory Orchestra in the Czech Republic. His "Symphony of Drones" has been recorded at the Wesleyan University by an orchestra of fifteen musicians who are the next generation of stars of new music: Jackson Moore, Steve Lehman, Chris Jonas, Rees Archibald, just to name a few.
