When you first listen to Fabio Mengozzi's music it can be misleading. First of all because it's enjoyable, solid, no frills, direct. Then, because it allows your mind to wander among associations and suggestions that relate to various chapters of western music. However, stopping here, we would have already fallen into the trap. Under the illusion of having understood something that has within itself many other keys to interpretation. Fabio Mengozzi is an Italian pianist, composer and conductor. At the age of nineteen, under the guidance of Aldo Ciccolini, he obtained a piano diploma with honors from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, and participated the following year in the IV Music Festival of the Best Italian Diploma in Castrocaro Terme. He has won first prize at several international compositions, and has gone on to study composition and piano instruction. He performs his own works on this release.
