Mihaela Oprea writes of her new release: "Among all the fine arts, music is the most sublime, speaking to our souls and smoothing our paths through the joys and sorrows of life. This [release] is my modest tribute to the music and it's magic 'tool': The Violin. Inspired by my violin idols, Itzhak Perlman, Renaud Capucon, Joshua Bell, Kim Sjogren and my fantastic colleague, flutist Thomas Jensen, I tried to find my own way through the ocean of brilliant pieces for violin and piano. After much research, I realized that there are plenty of gems in the two cultures which are closest to my heard- Romanian and Danish. I was very lucky to find seven pieces from each country, and to get the chance of recording them in one of Europe's best classical venues: Alsion Concert Hall..." Mihaela Oprea is the concert master of the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra, South Denmark, and one of the greatest violinists to come out of Romania.
