Vocalist/actress Pearl Bailey and swing drummer/composer/arranger Louis Bellson had a marriage and musical partnership that lasted nearly 40 years. Bellson and Bailey performed at the White House on numerous occasions, performed regularly on TV and became extremely popular entertainers who performed around the world. Recorded in 1955, Pearl sings four songs - "Solid Gold Cadillac," "Zing Went the Strings of my Heart," "That Certain Feeling," and "Hit the Road to Dreamland". Bellson is represented by the instrumentals Little Sheba," "Land of Promise," "Rich People of Hollywood," and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," representing his soundtrack session work of the mid 1950's, and plays a hot arrangement of Fats Waller's "Stealin' Apples" to round out the set. All selections newly remastered.
