the album cover for Proclaimers - You May Offend - Red [Colored Vinyl] (Ofgv) (Red)

Spring this year saw The Proclaimers recording 12 new songs for their 13th album, You May Offend at the legendary Rockfield Studios with producer Dave Eringa. Recorded with their band Steven Christie/Keyboards, Garry John Kane/Bass, Zac Ware/Guitars and Clive Jenner/Drums. Appearing on three tracks, guest guitarist James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers). No sooner out of the studio and June has seen the start of a seven-month 61 date tour. June 26th sees the first single, the title track You May Offend with the album releasing on 11th September. A powerful accompanying video for the You May Offend single created by Emmy & BAFTA award winners, director Douglas Mackinnon in partnership with Peter Anderson Animation, is also out now. Since emerging with their debut album This is the Story in 1987, Craig & Charlie Reid have carved a niche for themselves where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide as the emotional honesty, political fire, wit and sing-along raucousness of their songs has entertained fans across the world. Amongst their many accolades they have enjoyed Gold and Platinum singles and albums in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand."My favourite band of all time. They write the most spectacular songs, big hearted, uncynical passionate songs.'" - David Tennant"There is a whole other world of music behind that song that I've just been discovering, and they're a wonderful, wonderful band. Now we live in the age of coolness that doesn't mean anything, it's just quality and soul. The Proclaimers make more sense than ever." - Chris Martin after Coldplay performed Sunshine on Leith at BBC Radio 2's The Piano Room.
