'Rhe offers up eight tracks of emotional pop rock with a passionate and moving approach to song structure. Her singing style is sincere and penetrating, reminding me of Natalie Merchant. As a matter of fact, there are songs on here that sound a lot like the lighter 10,000 Maniacs material. She performs both solo and with a band, with this recording being the latter.' (CM) Impactpress.com The first time you hear Rhe, you are struck with a feeling of awe as introspective passion radiates from the songs. Thoughts of Tori Amos, Ani Difranco and Sarah McClachlan come to mind, yet this is no mere sound-alike artist, this is a sound all it's own, bursting with unique feeling and emotion. Rhe emerged upon the Dayton, Ohio music scene in early 2000, whether performing solo or with the band, rich, vibrant vocals and soul exposing lyrics always make a lasting impression on the audience. Rhe's brand of soft modern rock and pop is getting attention. The band has been recognized by WOXY Radio (woxy.com), as one of the region's top local bands--they have also performed showcases at several music conferences and festivals around the region. Songs from their debut disc, Fairy Tales & Happy Endings, have been heard on college and NPR stations around the country. In July 2002, lead vocalist/songwriter, Rhonda Everitt, was putting the finishing touches on the first full-length project, however, her plans took an unexpected and unfortunate turn when she sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident, which nearly destroyed her left leg. Her doctor was just about ready to amputate when she was referred to a group of doctors in Indianapolis (home of the 500) who had pretty much seen and fixed everything. 'Nearly everyone had given up hope that I would be able to use my leg again,' remarks Everitt, 'but these guys looked at it and said, 'That's nothing-we can fix that.'' Though still recovering, the band is releasing 'Fairy Tales & Happy Endings', on Everitt's own Reach for the Sky Records (May ('03). The album is an eclectic mix of song styles, but brings a brand of alternative singer/songwriter style infused with electronic elements as it's strength. Everitt admits, 'There's a little something for everyone on this disc.' Highlights: Kon Tiki Girl has been licensed for use in a local McDonald's commercial Kon Tiki Girl has been licensed for use in the Independant film 'Turning the Corner.' 1000 Miles has been licensed for use in the Table Tennis Mockumentary, 'The Little White Ball'
