Recorded in May 1986 at the Lukaskirche is Dresden, this is the only recording of Boris Blacher's oratorio, Der Gross inquisitor. Suppressed during WWII by the Nazis, he finished the work based on Dostoyevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov," in 1943. Sigmund Nimsgern gives an exemplary performance with the Dresdner Philharmonic.
