Study / Various- Study
STUDY, Matt Tropman's 3rd commercial album release, includes his debut recordings as a tuba soloist as well as many never-before-recorded works performed on euphonium. STUDY features a variety of études, or "studies" on both instruments as well as works by J.S. Bach, Sergei Rachmaninoff and others. In particular, the world's first commercial recordings of Theo Charlier's "Trancendental Études" make this album a must-have for brass players. STUDY presents them with rarely heard piano accompaniments by Jean-Marie Cottet. Two of Verne Reynolds legendary "48 Études" are featured in a transcription for tuba. While brass players will be eager to hear the first-ever recordings of so many works, the wide variety of genres and styles presented on STUDY make it an appealing addition to any musician's collection.
