Dave Koonse and his son Larry Koonse have both been major guitarists in the Los Angeles area for quite some time, and are much in demand studio guitarists. Dave has been an integral part of George Shearing and Chico Hamilton's groups, while Larry, who has been playing since the age of seven, has worked with Bob Brookmeyer, John Dankworth and Billy Childs, and has played on countless records by everyone from Rod Stewart to Ray Brown. Presented here is an album they recorded together when Larry was just fifteen in 1977. Tracks include Horace Silver's "Opus de Funk," Miles Davis' "Four," and Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Once I Loved." One of the rarities of the jazz guitar world, the album finally sees the light of day in the digital domain. All selections newly remastered.
