Spiritual Gifts- Can I Get a Witness (CD)
This nine member West Virginia group was discovered and is now led by John Ellison. He has written all new songs for their debut album, except for a spirited spiritual version of his classic rock and R&B song, now renamed and done with a rousing Gospel chorus as "He's Some Kind of Wonderful." Spiritual Gifts uses the varied and well-coordinated talents of all nine members, who make a coherent whole despite their diverse ages, sex, race and backgrounds. Ellison's songs tap into the rich vein of spiritual life that he enjoyed growing up nearby in West Virginia. Although he met the group only recently, their instant kinship has created a vital and meaningful sound already garnering huge crowds that will only blossom into a national following with this, their first recording.
