Tom Waits’ 12th studio album, The Black Rider, was released in 1993 on Island Records. A musical comedy/horror collaboration with Waits and artists Robert Wilson (director/designer), William S. Burroughs (writer/Beat guru) and Kathleen Brennan (music). Not a cast album, The Black Rider is Tom’s interpretation and performance of songs he had originally created for the stage production. Featuring the tracks, “November,” “Russian Dance” and “The Briar And The Rose,” the music is a concoction of pop, vaudeville, rock, cabaret and blues – a brew that is strangely familiar yet absolutely fresh. Newly remastered for the first time from the original tapes and personally overseen by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, the LP is available on apple red vinyl. Limited Edition.
