Named in honor and in spirit of the Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu, the duo decided to record with nothing laid out in advance. Other than the American classics, "My Ideal," "Stablemates," and "The Nearness of You" cast in new shades, all the other pieces of music are experimental in nature and were totally improvised.
