A graduate of the Toho Gakuen School of Music and the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Arishima has given numerous recitals in Japan and Poland and also performed with orchestras including the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and Cracow Chamber Orchestra. For her debut recording, the Japanese artist offers a combination of two very distant worlds: the Romantic embodied by the music of Chopin and the twentieth century represented by the work of Karol Szymanowski, Kaziemierz Serocki and Arishima's compatriot Toru Takemitsu.
