Trumpet player Danny Davis played in a variety of swing bands, and worked for Gene Krupa, Bob Crosby, Freddy Martin and others. He was a producer for Joy and MGM Records in the '50s and worked for Chet Atkins at RCA in the mid-'60s before forming the Nashville Brass in '68. The band was voted CMA's Instrumental Band of the Year
