Born and raised in Los Angeles, Denise Rosner was an original member of the hit recording group 'Girl Talk' in 1985, at which time she sported big hair and long nails (as was the local custom). After moving to New York in 1988, Denise spent several years singing and acting in the Big Apple before retiring her life on the stage to become a top-selling real estate broker and full-fledged audience member. Fortunately, Denise 'found' her voice again - as well as a spiritual home - singing in the choir of LBGTQI Metropolitan Community Church (despite being a heterosexual Jew). All the proceeds from her recently released full-length album 'For Good' will go to benefit Sylvia's Place, MCCNY's emergency shelter and drop-in center for homeless and runaway LGBTQI youth aged 16-24. At Sylvia's Place these youth are provided with food and shelter, clothing, specialized medical and psychiatric care, job training and skills-building workshops, and HIV services and group support. 'For Good' is a compilation of many of the songs Denise has sung at MCCNY since joining the choir in 2004. The album, produced and arranged by MCCNY Choir Director John Fischer, also features many MCCNY choir members and musicians. Denise has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and The Advocate.
