Farid Ferragui- Mes Plus Belles Chansons Sentimentales
Farid Ferragui, nurtured by Kabyle, Western and Oriental music, developed a unique musical style during his studies at the École normale de Tizi Ouzou and in the Maghreb cafés of France. Playing the lute and accompanied by percussion instruments such as the derbouka and bendir, he is known for his profound romances centered on love, with social, political and exile themes. Born on October 25, 1953 in Taka, Kabylia, he began writing poetry as a child and learned solfeggio at the École normale de Tizi-Ouzou. A French teacher in his village, he preferred to work on his voice and set his poems to music on his days off. In the 1970s, when he moved to France to study journalism, he maintained his musical commitment. Signed by the Azwaw label, his first cassette met with great success, thanks to titles such as "Ayul I-gevghane thoulas" and "Win iyifahmen itsrou". Farid Ferragui remains an emblematic figure in Algerian song, creating timeless classics.
