Tenor sax man Jackie Kelso was one of the most sought after session players during the golden age of rock n' roll and early rhythm and blues. His saxophone features prominently on many of the era's biggest hits including Sam Cooke's "Twistin' the Night Away," Johnny Otis' "Try Me" and Gene Vincent's "Say Mama" to name just a few. Jackie later played on many of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" productions and also backed Little Richard before returning to his first love - jazz and currently, now in his 80's, plays with the Count Basie Orchestra.
