James Ehnes- Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Beethoven Violin Concerto James Ehnes Violinist James Ehnes records Beethoven and Schubert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Andrew Manze. James Ehnes writes: "The music of Beethoven has been of paramount importance in my life and career. Recording the Beethoven Violin Concerto is a momentous occasion in the life of a concert violinist, and embarking on such a project is a decision not to be taken lightly! This year, various elements have come together to create what I believe to be the perfect situation in which to make this recording to the best of my abilities. I am the Artist in Residence with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, an orchestra I have known and worked with for 15 years, and as part of my activities with the orchestra this season I will be performing the Beethoven concerto with conductor Andrew Manze, one of my favorite collaborators and musicians. Andrew Manze and I have previously worked with the RLPO on multiple occasions, have performed the Beethoven together with other orchestras, and have developed a great shared artistic understanding.
