California born pianist and singer Kitty White, a nightclub favorite among the Hollywood set in Los Angeles during the 1950 's and 60 's, sang with warmth, soul and a feeling for lyrics that few could match. With a penchant for unusual but well chosen material, White was an artist of great depth and sophistication. She recorded mostly on the West Coast with top Jazz musicians including Chico Hamilton, Bud Shank, Laurindo Almeida, Buddy Collette, Red Calendar and Gerald Wiggins. On the classic 1962 session featured here, Kitty is backed by Buddy Collette's orchestra featuring the outstanding guitar playing of Laurindo Almeida. All selections newly re-mastered.
