Russian violinist Igor Ruhadze was trained in his native Moscow as a virtuoso on the modern violin. However, Ruhadze's interest in early music took him into playing with such ensembles as Musica ad Rhenum, Jed Wentz, and others. Ruhadze's solid technique enables him to tackle the difficulties of Locatelli's music with ease, charm, and brilliance on this recording. The featured ensemble, Violini Capricciosi play on original instruments and follow historically informed performance practice.
