An amazing vocalist who also wrote most of her own material, Lou McClinton, professionally known as Lou Mac (or sometimes spelled Lu Mac) was one of the finest R&B singers on the Chicago scene of the mid-1950s. Presented here is her rare classic 1956 single for the Chicago based Parrot Records subsidiary Blue Lake label, "Albert Is His Name" b/w "I'll Never Let Him Know," finds Lou backed by the cream of the crop of Chicago musicians featuring Jody Williams (guitar) Harold Ashby (tenor sax) Willie Dixon (bass) Lafayette Leake (piano) and Phil Thomas (drums). Williams superb guitar playing and Ashby's tenor sax shine throughout both sides buoyed by the excellent rhythm section. This rare classic is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
