Luca Guglielmi- Concerti Per Il Cembalo Obligato (CD)
Giovanni Platti (1697-1763) left nine Concerti per il cembalo obbligato that represent not only some of the earliest examples of keyboard and string compositions, but also - and more importantly - some of the first pieces written specifically for the newly invented fortepiano. Here, among other works, and for the first time on period instruments, forte-pianist Luca Guglielmi presents three of these groundbreaking compositions, together with the C-minor Piano Sonata and the Sonata for oboe.
