"This CD has at last given me the opportunity to record my favourite encore pieces. After concerts, friends have often asked me to do so and it is with great pleasure that I now meet their request. 'Liebesfreud, Liebesleid' (the joy and pain of love) is dedicated to the music, the daily involvement with the cello and the personal relationships in my life.
