'Call me simply a musician,' said Rolf Liebermann, but in fact he worked in many fields of music as administrator, academic, broadcaster and composer, developing a musical language which combined modern techniques with baroque, classical and light music styles. Furioso, one of the best known of Liebermann's compositions, is in the three part form an Italian 'an attempt to include an element of actual orchestra playing in a classical symphonic style, but using the same harmonic material.
