The duo of Black-C and 18-year-old Hitman (known in Bay Area circles as Ruthless By Law) earned their rep with a pair of independently released albums (whose combined sales total more than 350,000 copies) and regional hits like "No Bammer Weed" and "Bounce to This." As heard on their Big Beat/Atlantic debut, RBL's tracks echo influences from Ice Cube and Above the Law to Cameo and Con Funksion.
