The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra- Orchestral Works 2 (CD)
This disc marks the beginning of the partnership between the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and it's new Chief Conductor, Sir Andrew Davis. In the pieces performed here, we find Goossens emerging at the end of World War I as a brilliant and innovative orchestrator, a modernist influenced by Debussy, Ravel, and early Stravinsky.
